You've fed your lawn before. It greened up. Looked great for a week or two. Then faded, and you were back to square one.
The product probably wasn't the problem. The formulation was.
Most fertilisers sold in Australia are agricultural products designed for broad-acre crops and pastures. The nutrient ratios, release mechanisms, and uptake pathways are built around farm biology, not turf. When you apply them to a home lawn, you get a short-lived surface response and nothing more.
Surge is different. A foliar fertiliser scientifically formulated specifically for turf. Visible green-up and growth within 5 to 7 days. Not weeks. Days.
What it does
A high-nitrogen foliar fertiliser with a balanced trace element blend, formulated specifically for residential turf. Absorbed directly through the leaf surface, bypassing the slow process of soil breakdown and root uptake that granular and agricultural liquid products rely on. The trace element blend drives colour and supports ongoing turf resilience so results don't disappear the moment the product runs out.
Application rate
200 to 500ml per 100m2. Mix into 5L of water. Apply evenly across the leaf surface. Leave on the leaf for 1 to 2 hours — this contact time is critical for foliar uptake. Water in lightly after. Apply early morning or late afternoon when temperatures exceed 30 degrees.
Rate guide:
200ml — routine monthly maintenance
350ml — general recovery and growth boost
500ml — rapid recovery after stress, damage, or heavy wear
1L covers 200 to 500m2 depending on rate.
What to expect
Days 3 to 5: First signs of green-up and leaf response.
Days 5 to 7: Noticeable colour improvement and growth response across the lawn.
Weeks 2 to 3: Stronger, more resilient turf — particularly when used alongside Soak and Vital as part of the full program.
Why it works when other products haven't
1. Formulated for turf, not agriculture. The fertilisers most Australians have used are agricultural products repackaged for the home market. Surge is built from the ground up around residential turf biology — the nutrient ratios, the uptake pathways, the trace element profile.
2. The program underneath matters. Surge performs significantly better when the soil is open and the roots are healthy. Soak fixes the soil. Vital builds the root system. When those are in place, Surge delivers results that genuinely surprise people. If something hasn't worked before, the program was likely incomplete.
Complete the program
Surge works harder when paired with the full two-layer approach. Most lawns need both layers to see results that hold.

Frequently asked questions
I've tried other fertilisers and didn't get results. Why will Surge be different?
Most lawn fertilisers sold in Australia are agricultural products formulated for crops and pastures, not turf. Surge is specifically formulated for how turf plants absorb and use nutrients. If you've also been dealing with poor water penetration or a weak root system, that's likely compounding the issue — Surge works best as part of the full program with Soak and Vital.
How is Surge different from granular fertiliser?
Granular fertilisers need to break down in the soil, dissolve, and absorb through the roots — a process that takes weeks and loses significant product to runoff. Surge is applied directly to the leaf and absorbed through the surface. That's why you see results in days, not weeks.
Can I mix Surge with Vivid?
Yes. Surge and Vivid are the two leaf-layer products in the program and are designed to be applied together in a single pass. Surge drives growth and recovery. Vivid drives depth of colour.
When should I not apply Surge?
Avoid the middle of the day in summer. High temperatures combined with foliar nitrogen can cause leaf burn. Always apply early morning or late afternoon when temperatures exceed 30 degrees.
Can I overapply Surge?
Stick to recommended rates. Excess nitrogen pushes soft growth that is more vulnerable to disease and heat stress. Use 500ml for stress recovery, 200ml for routine maintenance.
Will this work on my turf type?
Yes. Works across all common Australian varieties including buffalo, kikuyu, couch, and zoysia.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Safe once dried and watered in, typically a couple of hours after application.
