Not dead. Not patchy. Just dull. A washed-out, thin colour that looks average no matter what you put on it.

That's a colour problem. And most fertilisers solve it the slow way — push growth, increase leaf mass, more chlorophyll reads as green. It works, but the colour is shallow and fades within 10 days.

Vivid takes a different approach. Chelated iron and manganese — complexed with citrates for immediate foliar uptake — drive deep green colour at the leaf surface. Combined with foliar nitrogen, the result is visible within 3 to 5 days and holds for weeks per application.

What it does

A foliar colour formula combining chelated iron, manganese, and nitrogen, developed specifically for residential turf. Iron and manganese are complexed with citrates for rapid leaf uptake — colour response is visible within days, not weeks. Applied every 3 to 4 weeks through the growing season, it builds cumulative colour depth that standard granular fertilisers cannot match.

Application rate

200 to 400ml per 100m2. Mix into 5L of water. Apply evenly across the leaf surface. Leave on the leaf for 2 hours before watering in. Apply early morning or late afternoon when temperatures exceed 30 degrees. Can be mixed with Surge in the same tank pass.

Rate guide:
200ml: regular colour maintenance
400ml: deeper colour enhancement or winter colour recovery

Apply every 3 to 4 weeks through the growing season.

1L covers 250 to 500m2 depending on rate.

What to expect

Days 3 to 5: First signs of colour deepening, particularly noticeable in lawns that have been dull or washed out.

Why Vivid produces colour standard fertilisers can't

Standard fertilisers produce colour as a side effect of pushing growth — more leaf mass means more chlorophyll, which reads as green. It's a slow process and the colour fades quickly when applications stop.

Vivid works at the leaf surface. Iron and manganese are chelated with citrates, which means they're immediately available for uptake rather than being tied up in the soil or spray tank. The colour response is faster and more intense than you can achieve through a growth-based approach alone.

It's also why Vivid is effective for winter colour maintenance. When growth slows in cooler months, a growth-dependent approach stops working. Vivid keeps producing colour because the foliar uptake pathway stays active year-round.

Frequently asked questions

Will Vivid affect lawn growth?
Yes — Vivid contains foliar nitrogen alongside iron and manganese, so some growth response is normal. The key difference from a standard fertiliser is the chelated iron and manganese, which deliver colour depth and speed that nitrogen alone cannot produce.

Is Vivid good for winter?
Yes. Growth slows significantly in cooler months but colour doesn't have to suffer. Vivid is the primary product in the Turf & Surf winter colour program, particularly for lawns that want to hold colour through the cooler season.

Can I mix Vivid with Surge?
Yes. Surge and Vivid are designed to be applied together as the leaf layer. Surge drives growth and recovery. Vivid drives depth of colour. One sprayer run covers both.

My lawn is pale and thin, will Vivid fix it?
Vivid will improve colour significantly. But if the lawn is thin and pale rather than just lacking colour depth, there's likely a soil or root issue underneath that needs addressing first. Soak, Vital, and Surge as the foundation layer will make Vivid perform dramatically better.

Will this work on my turf type?
Yes. Works across buffalo, kikuyu, couch, and zoysia.

How long does one bottle last?
At 200 to 400ml per 100m2, a 1L bottle covers 250 to 500m2 — a full season of monthly applications at the maintenance rate for a standard suburban lawn.

Is it safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Safe once dried after application and watered in, typically within a couple of hours.
