Looking after your lawn year-round in Australia means working with the seasons, not against them. This is the Turf & Surf month-by-month maintenance schedule with exact product rates, seasonal timing, and application advice built around Australian conditions.
How to Use This Calendar
The schedule uses two application methods depending on the product:
Soak, Base & Vital are mixed together in the same sprayer. Apply evenly across the lawn using a backpack sprayer, then water in immediately. This moves the product down through the soil profile and into the root zone where it does its best work.
Surge & Vivid are applied as a foliar spray directly to the leaf surface. Allow the product to sit on the leaf for 1 to 2 hours before watering in.
Summer (December, January, February)
Summer is your lawn's most demanding season. Heat stress, heavy growth, and hydrophobic soil all hit at once. Your program during this period focuses on hydration, nutrition, and leaf resilience.

Surge and Vivid keep the leaf energised and looking sharp through the heat. Soak is critical during summer to maximise water absorption and reduce the runoff that leads to dry patches. Vital and Base return in February to start strengthening the root zone ahead of the seasonal transition.
Autumn (March, April, May)
Autumn is your preparation window. Growth slows, but this is exactly the right time to build the soil foundation that will carry your lawn through winter and set it up for a strong spring flush.

Vital and Base return in April to deepen root development before the cooler months. Rates drop in May as the lawn enters a lower growth phase. Soak returns in April to ensure products penetrate through any soil hydrophobicity that has built up over summer.
Winter (June, July, August)
Winter is a maintenance phase, not a growth phase. The goal is to keep the lawn ticking over, support the root zone, and hold colour.

Reduced rates of Vivid and Surge maintain colour and foliar health without pushing excessive growth. Vital and Base return in July to keep the root system supported through the coldest period. August marks the shift back toward full rates as the lawn begins to wake up ahead of spring.
Spring (September, October, November)
Spring is your lawn's highest potential season. It responds rapidly to inputs. This is when your program from autumn and winter pays off.
